Let's kick off the school year

The year Thirteen's kicked off the 2008 school year with their annual camp at Kawhatau. It was a brilliant four days which saw us partaking in alot of different activities. I must stress that what goes on camp stays on camp so this will be a brief article. No secrets will part my lips, and when you go on this camp you will understand why!

We stayed in cabins alongside the Rangitikei River, which was quite low for this week as it was very dry weather. Swims were daily in a deep swimming hole that we found and a long tramp was taken through the cold, refreshing water. Many were tested by minor obstacles found on the way and the drying room was full of wet shoes at the conclusion of the camp. Some of our number went on a different tramp which was apparently very challenging and saw some unexpected people taking the lead!

Teamwork was a major theme for our camp and I am proud to say that I believe this years seventh form is a strong team and the school is lucky to have us! We had a lot of fun together.

On Thursday we were joined by the year nine's and spent a day getting to know each other. We had prepared a wonderful day which was unfortuantly cut short. The activities that we did do were well recieved and participated in fully. There were no bad comments about the year nine's from the year thirteen's, and hopefully vice-versa!

Camp was incredibly fun and strangely, educational.

This year is going to be a great one! hope you are all looking forward to it.

Yay!! You've got the blog up!! And before the news got old. Lol. Did you see the hit counter at the bottom of the page? We might get to 100 before the end of the term. Scary since we thought that wouldn't happen 'till the end of the year!
